Topics:

Issue:

As Main Topic: Architecture is clearly the most representative Topic of the Stamp, that could be also included in a wider Arts.

Then, more in particular it Professionals, the Architects are perhaps more clearly the Main Topic of this Release instead of Architecture itself, and in particular the Uruguayan Architects who could be viewed as inside the Association of Architects of Uruguay, Instittution whose Centenary is celebrated by this Release.

Then, surrounding the main topic, could be found the followings: The first is Centenary, then, as Association of Architects of Uruguay works as the Union of Architects, Labour rights and Unions could be also Topics of this Release, and finally, as focus is put in the Professionals, this issue could be related to a Jobs Topic too.

Now, regarding the desing of the stamp: Besides reinforcing the Topic Architecture by showing a well designed Building, it also reinforce it as it is the Headquarters of the Faculty of Architecture, the Building which was selected for the Picture shown in the Stamp.

The Headquarters of the Faculty of Architecture was designed by the Architects: Román Fresnedo Siri and Mario Muccinelli, inaugurated in 1948, and declared National Historical Monument on year 2000.

The Faculty of Architecture is one of the Faculties of the University of the Republic, in Spanish "Universidad de la República" or "UdelaR", State and Free University of Uruguay, the most important, oldest, and largest university of the country, with a student body of more than 80,000 students, founded on July 18, 1849 in Montevideo, where most of its buildings and facilities are still located. Then, Topics as State Education, Free Education, inside a wider Education, are tangentially included in this Release.

The design of the Stamp is completed with the Logotype of Association, that is mainly a Ionic Capital of a Column with a Face Sculpted in it Center, that it could made the Release useful for Columns and Sculpture Topics and even the Ionic Order, and also Greek Culture ones.

The last topics identified are Vegetables or Flora because of the Lawn surrounding the building and one Bush that is also shown in the Picture.

Finally, in a more symbolic way: besides that all Centenaries, specially in a Country relatively young as it is Uruguay, reinforces the History, and in this case the Uruguayan History, Topic. I think that the selection of a Picture of the Headquarters of the Faculty of Architecture, and not one of the Headquarters of the Association being honoured, symbolize the Recognition , Gratitude and Attachment of the Association to his House of Study.

Block:

The block: Although including only the legend and the proof of colour on the right-top corner of the Block, with this last item introduce an item that is not commonly seen in stamps, that is the Compass, or Pair of Compasses, a Technical Drawing Instrument that can be used for inscribing circles or arcs, and as dividers, they can also be used as Tools to Measure Distances, in particular on Maps. Compasses can be used also for Mathematics, Drafting, and Navigation.

FDC:

The desing of the First Day Cancelation: Did not add new topics and only reinforces the ColumnsSculpture, Ionic Order, and Greece Culture Topics, as it only shows, the Logotype of the Association, that as was stated before, could be useful for Collections in the mentioned Topics.

If you consider that there are another topics in this stamp, that were not spot in this review, you are encouraged to telling me about them, so please do not hesitate to post a comment. I would appreciate your help very much.
